We opened our presents on Christmas Eve because the twins were not going to be with us due to going to a Civil Air Patrol Encampment.

Hello Everyone,
I'm now back! Ian and Emily have returned and that's awesome! We are having loads of fun and I'm looking forward to Christmas.
Cricket and I are riding a lot bareback and bridless (only and little string around her neck and I have NO saddle!) and I took a very successful jump yesterday! YAY!
I bought a treadmill the other day for teaching the dogs to run on, it's awesome and it's MINE! Ha ha.... Hot Chocolate is so high-strung that this was needed!!! She would not be tired even after a 5 mile run.. THIS IS GREAT! YES YES YES YES!!!

I hope y'all aren't to angry for me not posting anything in.... (uhh... lets see here...) FOREVER!!!

Leah and the Bridle

Leah just started using the bridle and shes learning really quickly. I thought she was ready because she is really soft with the halter...
I'm not going to jump her in it 'till she figures our that you need to be soft in the bridle just like the halter! :) I'm a little hesitant 'cause I don't want to hurt her but I need to remember to treat it like the halter... (It's a snaffle bit so I can do that)

Hello everyone!
Leah has never wanted to jump and thing (but I think she has potential), the only way to go over it was to step over it... Well, after lots of work, we can now canter over things with a minimal amount of problems. The jump is about 2 feet, it's a little far away but I don't think it's blurry. I'm riding bareback with a halter as usual.. I hope you enjoy it.

Ok, as you might know, I'm really busy so it's been a bit since I've written a post lately... So, I'm going to talk about.... hmmmm.... CRICKET!!!

I have not ridden Cricket recently, but I've spent lots of undemanding time with her at feeding time. Our neighbor Mrs. Graves has about 21 horses and a really nice arena and round corral and wants someone to ride with her as she's breaking a one of her horses (his name is Jack and he LOVES to buck, YEEE-HAWWWW!), so I'll be going over there a lot to ride with her... Only I had to work something out with Mom first, I need to keep my room clean for a WHOLE WEEK!!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH, torture!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol....

Hope you guy's liked the update and all the exlamation points contained in it!

Last night I updated a lot on my blog. As you might have noticed, I changed the background and I added a couple of songs so y'all can hear some MMMUUUSSSIIICCC!!! He he.... What's been happening lately..

OK y'all, I'm really sorry for not keeping up with this blog, but things get busy around here..

School started and Abby on down are taking online classes with Veritas press. I'm taking Latin, Biology, Omnibus 1 primary and secondary.

All the animals are fine. Boppie had to find a new home, we needed to find some new homes for some of the doggies. It's very sad! :'(

Cricket is still working on Cantering on a circle. I'm trying not to get stuck on one thing, but this will need to happen before moving on to level 3.

I have not found a lot of time to ride Leah (sorry Em!), but Abby and I went on a ride in the pen and raced around (I won..).

What's been happening lately

Ok y'all,
I'm sorry for not writing any posts in a while.. Here is an update of what has happened lately and what is going to happen..

Ok.. Here goes..
Harrison. Uh.. Don't really know if anything is new with him.
Emily has started her first week in school at Norfolk State University, pray for her please.
This is the last weekend with Ian before he goes to Northwestern Preparatory School, a school that will set you up well for one of the military academy's. He will be gone for 4 months! Boo Hoo Hoo!
Abby is not really doing anything of significance, I don't think, oh except doing school with the twins and I.
Nathan is doing school and wants to do lacrosse, CAP is continuing.
Isaac has not decided what he is doing as far as I know, school, CAP, and a sport of his choice.
Me: Trying to juggle school, Cricket, Boppie and Lottie's morning walks, working with Leah, and a lot of everyday things that are very hard to rush around and do.. Try to forgive me if I lag on writing blog posts during this school season. It seems stressful, I know, silly of me to think so... But please pray for that.

Yep, I love this one! I was galloping bareback with a halter and bareback pad... The first thing daddy said was, "Bitty, that is really cool, but how on earth did you manage to gallop and take a picture of your shadow?!?".... Ha Ha, funny how girls can multi-task like that (heh heh)!

Do any of you have doubts about why I love riding so much?
I know this was very bumpy but that's 'cause I had no hands on so she had freedom to make turns.

Riding bareback with a halter is the best!

What a morning!

Hey y'all.
Sorry, not written a post since Daddy's b-day..

Well anyways.. I worked out 4 very jumpy dogs this morning in a sweltering 74 degrees, many of you would say 'What nice weather!', but I would say heavy jeans and boots, and that kind of heat (I'm not used to it) all adds up. :) I feel like that was a days work..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!

Everyone MUST wish my Daddy a Happy Birthday... (MUST!) Just kidding, he he he!

Anyways, we had a surprise Birthday party for him when he got home from work, Harrison was lovely and got together some scallops, mussels, and steak... What a treat! Grandma made some wonderful potatoes as well..

Then I went on a nice and slow ride, I didn't go fast 'cause Cricket needs her feet trimmed and therefore she will hurt herself by going fast..

Doggie Back Pack

I made a Doggy Backpack out of old Jeans. I learned a lot more about the sewing machine, changing a needle, sorry about that Mommy, it broke :)
They are real handy to have around, Molly is the model in this picture. It took me about an hour.
If you want a backpack, write and tell me what breed of dog you have (I can figure out what the sizing needs to be) and then send me a old pair of jeans or the material you want.

Dog training tip

This is the first thing I do with a hipper/aggressive dog.

Explaining: Most of you know this, but I start with the basics.

OK, facing the dog, hold collar in hand closest to the dog, put your other hand in between the front and back legs, and grasp the front leg farthest away from you pull towards you until the dog falls over.

If the dog is hipper do all this and keep on holding the collar even after the dog is down, pet the dog still holding him firmly (not pushing down on him!).

If the dog is aggressive, hold him down firmly (not pushing him, this creates anger), do not pet..

Do this until the down is completely calmed, when you let him up don't make it quick, gently help him up, this makes you still involved, so doggy won't just jump up and go do his own thing.

DO NOT DO THIS ON A SCARED DOG!

On a scared dog, walk around confidently and make unexpected turns.

Make sure the aggression is not from fear.

You can copy this and print it, I don't mind.

The best ride ever!

I'm wearing a new helmet I just got from the thrift store, a velvet one.
Leah has the most rhythmic soft gallop ever!

Grandma is here and I did a dog training demonstration, Grandma has a dog and he is very hipper. He pulls on the leash a lot, so I showed her how to teach a dog to heel. I had Hot Chocolate heeling in about 1 min 30 sec, no treats. Amazing, huh?!? Grandma was sitting in a lawn chair, and I ended up talking her into walking Hot Chocolate so she could get the feel of it.

I also told her to buy Cesar Millan's Mastering Leadership videos. She told me she's going to buy them, she watched some of his video clips on his website.

Evening jaunt..

Harrison and I went on a jog/walk. Boppie has such a funny perfect little pitter-patter and Molly such a silly carefree lope, ha ha!!

After that we took Molly and Boppie on a ride in Harrison's pick-up, Molly felt SO cool, her long ears flapping in the wind! Boppie was mellow about it and very quiet. We unsnapped Molly when we felt she wasn't going anywhere..

I still have to put some sheets in the dryer and put the dogs away.

Helping with the jobs around, he gets a little hot, it's hard work riding in the wheel barrel!

Boppie gets a big head sometimes, so he needs a challenge, he's a rising star in gymnastics, I mean, look at him an the balance beam! Soon I'll bets he'll be a tight rope walker.

I groomed Cricket all fancy today, she looked beautiful! Her coat casts a shade of orange/red! Any people that have a clue about conformation, what does she look like to you? If I could show her in halter classes I would. I also got a horse book on grooming, and that helped a lot.
Note: I wrapped her tail.

Cricket.

Well, once I get done with level 3 in Parelli, I want to have a goal set for what Cricket and I are going to do. Example, jumping, reining, gymkhana, etc.. Have any ideas?

Random, but cool!

After diner, we had some amazing cloud formations! We had pink, orange, purple, and grey clouds! Plus~The moon! Amazing!
The horses got some cute and pretty poses earlier in the afternoon, so did the dogs. The shadow of the horse is Brego. He looks like an Arab in the shadow, but he's really a mustang. Abby is in Alaska and wanted some pictures of him so I put them on my blog so when she has internet access she can take a look..
I caught Glassy for the first time on camera laying in the swimming pool. She looks like she's sighing or something!
I got the list of tasks that I need to do on my audition video for level 1, I'm really working on level 2 but I never got to send in my level 1 videos.
